Really fun professor, the classes were amazing but participation is the most important thing, homework is just reading or doing videos and doesn't take a lot of time, overall a great class and I would def recommend taking it

John is amazing, don't even think twice about taking his class. Shaped so much of my freshman fall semester memories in his writing 101. He lets his students have a lot of artistic liberty in their writing and is very refreshing as someone who took this as their first eng/writing course since AP Lit & Lang in high school. Super approachable & fair!

How to be a friend sounds silly but was seriously the best class I've taken. The class is fully discussion-based, but John is so chill and down to earth that it creates a very comfortable environment for everyone in class to share their thoughts. I highly recommend taking this for your creativity and innovation, or even as a free elective!

I feel like I have developed as a person just by being in his class, which is something huge to say. He is incredibly understanding and open guy and our class has had some super interesting conversations because of how naturally outgoing he is(don't be intimidated by the 10 - 12 class, there are breaks in between)

I highly recommend this professor!! he was so funny and really cared about his students and how they were doing in the class.
